Bad Timing at its Best.......... !!
Dan spoke about Originality Vs Timing, here's an original (!) at the worst probable time.
A really long time ago, one stormy afternoon...
... actually, a year ago during a micro-controller lecture, one of my friend asked our prof, "Ma'am, why is it that the 8051 can only perfom unsigned multiplication and division? ". What poor R was unaware was, there was me all waiting to pounce, and before our teacher could come up with a reply, I tell her, "Its to avoid litigation, in case something goes wrong!!"
Unfortunately, the joke was lost back then... talk about bad timing!

Like they say
"Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance"

Or, as in this case, the humour quotient of a joke... though the 'outcome' rain dance sounds, well, interesting!

'Outcome of a rain dance' is not always rain. Just like the 'outcome of a joke' is not necescarily humour.
There is a certain situational dimension to it and then there is luck.
Timing is kind of like that ,you not going to have it 100 out 100 times there is always the other side of the coin , if you get what I mean.
for example
when I commeted
"once you're wet might as well get drenched" it invoked reaction bc there was context and If there would have been no context or timing for the matter of fact there would be no reaction, it as simple as that.
