The eighth day of this Lunar fortnight
12:30 hours, "Lets have dahi handi in college tomorrow"
"okay"
"okay"
And many okays, and 24 hours later, on the 2nd floor of college we saw the 'handi' suspended.
Another couple of hours later, all of us were rolling in mud in front of not only crowd from college, but also the Pharmacy college, the School of Management, and the co-ed college*. It was quite a 'different' sight to see a bunch of girls climbing one on top of the other to break the handi full of dahi-pohe!
What we got in return was
- A broken handi........... !!!
- A hell lot of fun
- Wada Pav** on the house
- Back aches
But boy oh boy, I wouldn't have had it any other way!
*Interestingly in Pune (Unlike the rest of the country, to my knowledge) we have this ever growing polulation of 'Women Engg. Colleges'. The management states its for women emancipation and upliftment and blah blah blah... but I'm sure that is debatable!
**A friend actually heard "Wada Pav ki kasam blah blah blah...........!!!!" quite a bit in Mumbai locals!

Actually , we called off the strike on Monday..
Yup ,people lost all interest by the end of the week and ... luckily it was all non-violent & no politics at MIT.
I think DYP called SFI into it and there was altercation with the police and some people got hurt.
Anyway I had an eventful week and all and all it was a new experience ..

Does that mean, Karad and Co have agreed to refund the money, or has the strike been called off because CG has stopped serving decent enough food?

Actually Karad threatened us and I quote
"I'm being very nice hear, but if you donot return to college by monday I will close the college for 10 days and use everything in my power to get back to college"
Anyway most of us being frightened engineering students didn't want to loose out of more of our term and believing a refund 22,517Rs(I know I like the 517 part) was better then "zero" returned to coll

I think, you guys still got a decent enough deal. Many colleges in Pune are charging the stipulated fes and then taking a lot of un-official fees. MIT I believe was asking for 71K odd upfront or something. (And whatever the reduced fees, those also, without official/un-official hassles)
And with getting some money back, nothing like it. Some more pocket money eh?
